Love and Emma Goldman: A Rock Opera

I was blessed this last spring to take part in an amazing project.  My friends Sarah Jane Moody and Jeremy Bleich got a grant to write a rock opera based on the life of Emma Goldman, a turn of the century professional orator, writer, agitator and all around bad ass!  If you haven’t heard of her, I highly recommend looking her up.

I tried out and got the lead, so for three months I got to stand in Emma’s shoes, letting her philosophies and words change me from the inside out.  For the first time, I really let my inner super diva rock star off her leash to see what it was like.  I had the time of my life!  Every single person involved in the production was amazing, professional, brilliant and fun.  The creative process was rich and deep. The show debuted in Santa Fe in May.
